According to Amilo, he had put the phones on his car while having a discussion with his friend. He eventually drove off without remembering the phones. Luckily enough, two young men found the lost phones and returned them to the actor. Amilo explained that they also refused to collect any monetary reward. Nollywood actor and winner of Big Brother Africa Season 5 reality TV show, Uti Nwachukwu, has apologized to 2020 Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Laycon, for his wrong comments towards him.

Lebanon Blast: Frantic Search For Survivors of Deadly Explosion

Rescue workers in Lebanon are searching for more than a hundred people who are missing after a huge explosion devastated the port area of the capital Beirut on Tuesday. At least 100 people and injured more than 4,000 others in the blast.

President Michel Aoun said the blast was caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a warehouse. Ammonium nitrate is used as a fertiliser in agriculture and as an explosive.

He scheduled an urgent cabinet meeting for Wednesday, and said a two-week state of emergency should be declared.
The country will observe an official period of mourning for three days from Wednesday.

The blast was also felt 240km (150 miles) away on the island of Cyprus, in the eastern Mediterranean, with people there saying they thought it was an earthquake.
BBC journalist Rami Ruhayem said there was chaos in the aftermath of the blast as ambulances with their sirens wailing inched their way through heavy traffic to get to the site. "Shards of glass blanketed the highway leading into Beirut from the north, as a tractor cleared the rubble."

Nigeria Senate begins Eight Weeks Reccess, Scheduled to Resume September 15

The Nigeria Senate announced on thursday that it has adjourned plenary till Sepember 15, so says the President of the Nigeria Senate, Ahmed Lawan. He also stated that the various comittee of the Senate will be working during the recess period.

Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen's said he was jailed because of his book

Michael Cohen was released after being jailed for about three years for matters including TRump's campaign financial violation.

Mr Jegede is a former attorney general of Ondo State. Other results include; Dr Bode Ayorinde scored 95 votes, Mr Banji Okunomo polled 90, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere got 33, Sola Ebiseni scored 29 and Godday Erewa polled 13 votes.

2,122 delegates from the 18 local government area of the state voted in the election. Accreditation of voters started by 10 a.m while voting commenced from 2pm. The exercised followed strict Covid-19 protocols, with officials of INEC monitoring the eexercise.

Federal Government of Nigeria releases envidence of SUKUK fund utilized in developing Nigeria roads

The federal government of Nigeria in his transparency drive, releases photos of the progress made so far in the use of the 162.5 billion naira SUKUK fund.

The sum of N162bn was recently approved to be disbursed across the six geopolitical zones for roads construction. “This N162bn completes cash settlement for all capital road expenditures in 2020 budget. North Central: 8 roads, North East: 8 roads, North West: 7 roads, South East: 5 roads, South South: 10 roads, South West: 6 roads.’’

NDDC MD, Pondei, ‘Slumps’ During Reps Committee’s Interrogation

The acting managing director of the Niger-deltan Development Commission, Daniel Pondei, was interrogated by the Nigerian House of Representative committee on Niger-delta. This is the fourth hearing of the committee on financial misappropriation in the comission.

Daniel Pondei fainted in his chair while he was interrogated for over an hour, those present at the hearing tried to resuscitate him. After he regained composure, the hearing was terminated and commitee members vowed not to call him up for interrogation again.

Buhari Mourns, Funtua, Dies at 78

President Buhari regreted the loss of his friend who was a media, business leader, he died at the age of 78. Malam Isma’ila Isa Funtua, who was Life Patron of International Press Institute and Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN).

Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari's senior special assistant on Media and Publicity, said yesterday.

It added: “The President condoles with family members, government and people of Katsina State, and all associates of the former president of NPAN, especially the media industry, on the loss, describing him as “greatly admired and respected.’’

Former Edo governor, Adams Oshiomhole regrets campaining for his successor

Former Edo government Adams Oshiomhole yesterday arrived Edo State after he was removed from the chairmanship position of the All Progressive Congress Party, which is Nigeria biggest political party. He ruled Edo state for two term and brought about development in the south- south state of Nigeria.

Oshiomhole just returned back to his home state from Abuja, where crowd of supported cheered him, welcoming him back to Edo politics.
